City Council Authorizes Funding For New Public Works Building

WILSONVILLE, OR —After years of discussion, Wilsonville is moving forward with a new public works complex. The City Council gave its okay for the start of construction of the facility.

The council authorized up to $1.5 million in financing for the project.

The city’s public works department has been arguing for the new complex, saying that it will serve several purposes including enhancing the city’s emergency preparedness; improving the efficiency of operations, providing more security for city vehicles and equipment.

The complex will be built along Boberg Road.

At the same meeting, the council also voted to continue the city’s tourism program, “Explore Wilsonville,” and authorized the city manager to join a nationwide settlement of opioid litigation against the three largest pharmaceutical companies in the United States.
